High Tide Cards using Brayering and Sponging Techniques

Hi,

What happens when you put the High Tide Stamp Set together with the Brayering and Sponging Techniques?  Well, you get these amazing results! Two beautiful cards that we will be making in my Classes in April! Aren’t they just amazing! Thanks to Serenestamper for her inspiration for the sunset card. Here’s the link to her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdO0djZ7VUo.  The second card I created myself and had a lightbulb moment! lol I had seen a few cards using either the Wink of Stella Pen https://www2.stampinup.com/ecweb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=141897 to create glisten on the sea or whisper white craft ink https://www2.stampinup.com/ecweb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=101731 to create waves.  However I wanted more texture and suddenly thought, ‘Clear Embossing Powder’! https://www2.stampinup.com/ecweb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=109130 Well as you can see it made a fantastic card with lots of texture on the sea! I love it!

Here are the two projects, the first one was inspired by Serenestamper and the second one was my creation!

I hope you agree these projects are gorgeous and I hope you will want to make them too!

Brayering Technique – February Classes

Brayering technique went down really well at my February Classes! Everyone absolutely loved it! Orders for the Sponge Brayers flooded in, so be prepared Stampin’Up! hehe

What am I talking about you ask? Well brayering is where you take a sponge brayer and some ink pads and roll the sponge brayer which you have inked up with your chosen coloured ink, and roll it over a piece of  shimmery white cardstock to create some magic!  Still not clear? hehe well why not go to my youtube video tutorial page and click on the ‘Sponge Brayering Technique Video’.

If you fall in love with the brayering technique as much as my lovely ladies that do ‘class’ lol and would love to make the gorgeous card illustrated in the video, then why not order the products (see post Brayering February Class post ) and once the order goes through I will email you the tutorial to make the gorgeous card.  Better still if you live locally, why not join me for a 1-2-1.

Here are the two cards we made this month in my February Classes – both using the brayering technique!

Thanks for dropping by! Subscribe and you will never miss one of my posts again!

You can choose how you would like to stamp the flowers. Either stamp then colour in (one at the back of photo), stamp and leave it just stamped (one on right in photo) or stamped using lots of bright coloured inks (one on left in photos).  I’m sure you will enjoy making this card no matter which one you choose.  Remember it’s just £3 to make the card and enjoy a lovely cuppa!

I hope you will join me tomorrow, look forward to seeing you!

Thanks.

Wow what a project this month!

Hi,
Well my classes said they wanted a challenge to make something different, so who was I to refuse! lol Wow what a project this month!

The three classes I ran this month made the same card-I did have another project in hand ‘in case’ they managed to finish this one, but I defeated them! lol

Angled Crossover Card Front

Angled Crossover Card Front

I designed an ‘Angled Crossover Card’, which was in itself a new Folding technique they hadn’t done before, plus stamping all over the base card to look like Designer speciality paper. Then covered the card in lovely butterflies to give it a real ‘WOW’ Factor!

First of all I cut and scored the two pieces of whisper white cs so they slotted together to make the ‘Angled Crossover Base’. Then I used the Garden in Bloom Stamp set which is a 2-step stamp set. First of all I stamped all the outlines of the flowers, stems, leaves and bees using the outline stamps and Black Stazon Ink. Then filled them in with different coloured Inks using the Fill-in stamps from the same stamp set, really good value this stamp set! Once all sides of the base card were stamped all over, I then sponged all over all sides with Pool Party and a sponge dauber. This was very subtle but really enhanced the flowers etc. Once completed, slot the two pieces together to make the cross-over angled card.

To finish off I stamped large and small butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and Daffodil Delight Inks. I punched them out using the matching Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches. These then had their wings curled using a bone folder, stuck one on top of another to make 4x of each size/colour butterfly and stuck onto the card using Glue dots.

I stamped and fussy cut two Dragonflies from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp set and Wild Wasabi Ink. These were stuck one on top of the other with 2-way glue pen, the wings curled and stuck to card with glue dots. Finally, I stamped Best wishes from Petite Pairs stamp set, punched out with Washi Label Punch and stuck to front of card with a Dimensional and stuck another piece of whisper white cs on back of card to write on.

I hope you agree with me and my classes that it really is a magnificant card, well worth the time and effort to make. Has to be a very special person that receives this card! lol

Best get off lots more to design and prepare for my next Christmas Themed Workshop, oh and my Coffee n Card next week!
Thanks for dropping by!
