Pinkies Blog Hop – Saleabration

blog hop logo

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using new Stampin’ Up!® products that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration. Simply use the buttons at the end of of each post to keep hopping!

There are so many gorgeous products in this years Sale-a-Bration Catalogue, that you will definitely want to place an order and get those FREEBIES! lol I love them all and again it was hard choosing just one to showcase for you. So I thought I would show you the gorgeous Vellum Stack, Botanical Gardens and the Botanicals For You stamp set.  These two coordinate beautifully and in fact you will find they coordinate well with other stamps and papers in our new spring/summer catalogue.

Here is the first project I have made for you.

botanical vellum treat bag

As you can see I have done a beautiful gift bag in Vellum. First of all I stamped the words ‘Just for You, from Botanicals For You stamp set, using Rose Red Ink. Then using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words exactly over the top, I heat embossed the words over the top with Clear Embossing Powder. Using clear embossing powder is a great way to get all the colours you wish for. Isn’t it gorgeous! To make it stand out even more I have sponged on the back of the vellum using Rose Red ink and a sponge dauber. I also coloured the larger flowers on the back with crushed curry marker pen.

Botanicals card

Next I made a lovely coordinating card to go with it.  Again I have used some of the same Vellum, and stuck it to some Rose Red Cardstock, using Glue dots in the corners.  To hide the glue dots, I have added large pearls over the top. I stamped flowers from the Botanicals For You stamp set onto Shimmery White CS, using Rose Red, Perfect plum and crushed curry Inks. I stuck the flowers on the vellum using glue dots and added tiny pearls to each of them. Finally I stamped ‘…on your special day’ from the same stamp set on shimmery white cs with crushed curry ink, flagged one end using paper snips and stuck it to the card with dimensionals.  Can you see I added the single crushed curry flower to the banner which I think makes it ‘special’!

Give these together to someone special and they will be bowled over!

Well I hope you have enjoyed looking at my projects and I hope you will pop back soon to see how I have coordinated these Sale-a-bration Freebies with other products from the spring/summer catalogue.

So now it’s time to hop on over to Camille’s blog to see what amazing projects she has made with some new products.

Heat Embossing, Vellum, Ribbon

Hi,

I had a great time last Thursday with a lovely lady who comes every Thursday for a 1-2-1 with me.  This week I taught her how to heat emboss on vellum and how to colour in.  The second card, she wanted to do a card using ribbon so I taught her how to stamp onto small pieces of card even when the stamp is larger than the card and how to attach the ribbon.

As you can see from the pictures below of the two cards we did, they were gorgeous and alot of techniques are shown.  I have also made a couple of videos showing how I made these cards, so click on the photo and it will take you to the video.  The video/pictures are also on the tutorial page for future reference should you wish to look at them again.

Thanks for dropping by.

Great Saturday Monthly Class!

Hi,

What a great Saturday Monthly Class! So much fun, very lively and we made two amazing Cards!

This is the first one: Sweetbriar Double Gatefold Congratulations Card:

Sweetbriar Double Gatefold Card  Closed Sweetbriar Double Gatefold Card

This card is really eye-catching and everyone that has seen some of the other versions I have made as well as this one has fallen in love with the concept and wanted to make one for themselves!  It fits nicely into a 5″ x 5″ envelope and when ‘blinged’ up well WOW! lol. To see more versions I have made take a look at my Gallery pages here or go to my Pinterest Boards.

We had half an hour remaining of the class so we made a simple birthday card using the Sweetbriar Rose Stamp set again and heat embossing:
Here’s the card:

I will be teaching the classes this Friday and next Friday how to make them too, hope they have as much fun as the group last Saturday did and they love the cards too!

Here’s the supplies I used for both cards:
